Our Mission

The mission of the Connoquenessing Valley Community Chest is to raise funds to financially support local 501(c)3 charitable organizations that service the wants and needs of our neighbors.

How it Started

When two dozen community residents founded what then was known as the Zelienople Harmony Community Chest in 1944, their goal was to promote cooperation between area residents and the welfare, philanthropic, benevolent and social services available at the time. In 1961 the name was changed to the Connoquesnessing Valley Community Chest (CVCC), and in 1965 by-law changes brought in Jackson and Lancaster Townships as well as a portion of adjoining Beaver County. More than 1.5 million dollars has been raised and distributed in an equitable manner to approved  nonprofits who serve the local populace.

Throughout the years, each campaign has been successful through the cooperation of area businesses and industry as well as residents. Nearly 99% of monies raised will go directly to campaign recipients. All contributions are tax deductible.
